Rooted in Scriptural Truth

Generational Pivot is a team of men and women who believe the Bible and Jesus Christ hold the answers to our many cultural ills. We are dedicated to navigating the complexities of family dynamics through a Christian lens. Our journey began with a simple yet profound question: how can we better support the men in our lives and the families they lead?

With years of experience in pastoral counseling and family leadership, we bring a compassionate and spiritual perspective to every conversation. We believe that by addressing men's issues head-on, we can foster positive impacts that ripple through our communities and future generations.

The nuclear family is slowly disappearing, men are suffering through an identity crisis, and people no longer understand the reason for their existence. We are aimlessly looking for purpose, and we need direction. Generational Pivot wants to listen, observe, and communicate ways in which we all may find solutions, resolutions, and a path towards healing. We are here to help you grow.

Our approach is simple: we look at the Bible and Jesus Christ first to answer questions concerning truth and direction. We also look at philosophy, psychology, sociology, biology and counseling to help individuals understand and grow beyond their struggles.

The Hosts

Dr. Luis G Carrion Jr.

Co-Founder

Dr. Carrion’s academic journey is marked by a deep commitment to intellectual growth, interdisciplinary study, and the pursuit of knowledge that informs his worldview. His educational path spans philosophy, theology, divinity, and advanced ministerial studies—fields that collectively shaped him into a scholar-practitioner.

Luis began his formal studies with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible at Holmes College, where he developed the analytical foundation that would guide his later academic pursuits. His early exposure to classical philosophy, ethics, and theological reasoning cultivated a disciplined approach to problem-solving and a lifelong interest in understanding human behavior, moral responsibility, and the structure of truth.

He continued his education at Erskine Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and later completing doctoral studies in Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.). At Erskine Theological Seminary, Luis immersed himself in historical theology, biblical studies, and philosophical inquiry. His work explored the intersection of faith, ethics, and human nature—his dissertation sought to understand parental alienation and parental alienation syndrome in society and the church.

Carrion’s academic journey is ongoing. Luis Carrion is mentored by Dr. John Harvey and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Columbia International University, where he is expanding his research into areas such as moral philosophy, epistemology, and New Testament Studies. His current doctoral work examines Paul the Apostle's self-description in Romans.

Fun Facts – Dr Carrion is a jokester, loves to play pranks on his friends and family. Loves to fish and hunt, but has never caught a large fish or killed an animal. He loves old cars, especially the 1949 chevy 3100 short bed pickup. He loves to collect books, but what he really needs to do is read them. He believes man was placed on earth to enjoy God and be enjoyed by God. Luis dislikes being called “Doctor” Luis is enough for him.

He currently resides in Georgia with his wife and daughter.

Phoebe A. Foss

Co-Founder

For more than two decades, Phoebe has dedicated her life to walking alongside individuals navigating some of life’s most complex, volatile, and challenging transitions. Long before pursuing advanced academic training, she was on the ground in the human services sector, gaining a deep, first-hand understanding of how challenges and family dynamics shape a person's life trajectory. Her career has been defined by a holistic commitment to the human experience, spanning the entire continuum of life.

Driven by a desire to understand the intersection of human behavior and restoration, Phoebe earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. This fueled a lifelong passion for trauma-informed care and forensic social work, particularly for justice-involved populations and families working to dismantle cycles of multi-generational adversity. To complement her decades of practical wisdom, she is currently completing her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, ensuring that her advanced training builds on a deeply established foundation of frontline experience.

For Phoebe, educational and psychological frameworks are never siloed; they are thoughtfully weighed through a steadfast Biblical perspective. This integration of faith, empirical study, and deep life experience allows her to view human suffering, resilience, and redemption through a lens of ultimate purpose and hope. As the co-founder of The Generational Pivot, she bridges raw frontline empathy with sharp insight to help individuals understand their history, navigate their deepest losses, and intentionally engineer a legacy of lasting restoration.

To clarify for the record: Phoebe is not a doctor—though if you accidentally call her one, she won't correct you, and her husband probably won't let her hear the end of it anyway. When she isn't studying family systems or managing the beautiful chaos of raising three children with her husband, she ocassionally gets outdoors to walk a tree row or go fishing. In fact, her crowning outdoor achievement remains landing a legendary 10-pound bass using nothing but a child’s plastic Barbie rod and reel.

At the end of the day, Phoebe brings a uniquely grounded, joyful, and resilient presence to every conversation. She is a firm believer that generational cycles can be broken, especially when you are fueled by Christ, coffee, and a healthy dose of pure stubbornness.
